Caleb and Luke started summer by going to Valley Fair!
Text from Caleb, “It was raining really hard which was fun!”
Text from Luke, “There were no lines, and we didn’t go on any little rides, so we got to go on a lot of rides!” (Smiley face, roller coaster, ferris wheel, carousel, smiley tongue out Emojis)
What a way to start summer!
These kids keep insisting on getting big and getting big at warp speed!
It is so fun watching their personalities develop!
Introducing Jayne Yokom…4th Grade!
Jayne is still thinking about (and analyzing out loud) her favorite part of 3rd Grade. Stay Tuned. Until then, she is cartwheeling into summer.
Introducing Luke Yokom…7th Grade!
Luke was very disturbed by the last week of school as he does not understand going on field trips instead of doing anything that resembles academics. To ease the pain of wasting his time, he has been researching his summer reading list and has started to download his book choices to his kindle.
Introducing Mark Yokom…4th Grade!
Mark has LOTS of favorites about 3rd Grade…most being games that Mrs. Fisher taught him to play. One thing is for sure, he did NOT like the tornado sirens at the end of the school day when the weather looked threatening. Mark noted, “I was the only one in my room crying.” Mrs. Fisher noted, “Some are more sensitive than others.”
Introducing Brynn Yokom…2nd Grade!
Brynn looked pretty good on her last day of school pictures especially since she started throwing up during them!
Courtesy of her stomach bug she started summer vacation a day earlier than most!
Introducing Caleb Yokom…8th Grade (Last year of junior high next year)!
Unlike Luke, Caleb was very disturbed by the lack of fun on his last week of school. He did not understand why there was still testing going on this close to summer. To ease the pain of being expected to study, he started baseball and hung out with friends and then attempted to panic right before bed that he was not prepared for the next days tests.
Each one getting bigger in their own way :)

The marathon tradition is hands down one of our favorite days of the year! It represents community and a great reason to throw a party!

Caleb crushed the 7th grade school record today!
This was definitely not in the parenting manual that came with Caleb the day he was born…there may be nothing better than watching your child set goals, work hard and than succeed!
Such a fun track season! Can’t wait to see your name posted in the Ben Franklin school gym Caleb!
Jayne is such a go-getter in soccer games
Brynn is so not a go-getter in soccer games (often bargaining with Coach Mom…”If I kick the ball, can I play iPad when I get home?”)
Either way (go-getter or no go-getter)…the girls had a fun soccer season with super fun teams and fans (especially Mrs. Holter…our Longfellow angel)!
