Fantastic First Grader

Brynn’s teacher, Mrs. Larson, gave her a card on back to school night.  The card had strict instructions, “Do NOT open until Wednesday at bedtime.  NO Peeking.”

Brynn obeyed.  The card read:

Brynn woke up this morning and proclaimed for all to hear, “I SLEPT GREAT!”

Looking forward to a fantastic year for our fantastic first grader.

Best part of the first day, “Music class because my teacher is SO NICE.”  Now that is music to our ears.

Thrilling Third Graders

Mark had lots to share about his first day when he got home this afternoon…smiling all the while, but he landed on:

The best part of the first day, “We do not have buddies this year…We get to BE the buddies!”

Thrilling Tenderhearted Third Grader

Jayne was awfully quiet this morning, approaching Luke and asking quietly, “What do you do on the first day of third grade Luke?”  Luke sensed Jayne’s nerves and responded with all things fun.

Jayne mustered through her nerves and questions for the first day of school photo shoot.

Best part of the first day, “I am so happy that today was my best day ever.”  Mom, “Were you worried that today would not be your best day ever because you say that every day is your best day ever?”  With tears in her eyes, Jayne responded, “Yes.”

Lucky are our tenderhearted third graders to be able to be side by side through it all!

Caleb was panicking about the needed “sign picture,” so Luke took full advantage of the situation and not only smiled by the sign, but also threw in an extra pose…looking studious by the sign.

Luke sure knows how to get on Mom’s good side :)

Best part of the first day, “History class because we actually did something that resembled academics in that class.”  Worst part of the first day (question not asked, answer offered without prompting by our one-of-a-kind Luke), “Intramurals.  That was a waste of 40 minutes.  I did find out that the orchestra room is open during this time, so I am going to practice my violin during this time so I do not need to bring my violin to and from school.”
