The rain would NOT go away today, but the soccer games still went on!
And Mark was super wet, super muddy and super at Scoring Goals!

Jayne is happily signing copies of the Fargo Forum…
What a fun surprise to be in the newspaper!
Jayne wanted to wear a dress in the worst way to the last day of school. She was sad that she had to wear her Longfellow Field Day T-shirt. We settled on a pink skirt to fancy up her T-shirt. When Jayne saw the paper, she said with delight, “Ohhhh, my skirt!”
When Dad said, “Do you think they spelled our name right?” Jayne said with confidence, “Oh yes, I told them it is Y-O-K-O-M.”
Today…Jayne, retired from 1st grade
Mark, retired from 1st grade
Luke, retired from 4th grade
Dad retired from Longfellow sign coordinator
And Brynn retired from Longfellow sign key coordinator. Of note, Dad only needed to buy one replacement key...key coordinator has NO CLUE what she did with the original key. Brynn is leaving the key business to pursue tilted photography…
Let it all GO! It was a GREAT year! Bring on summer!
The heat never bothered us anyway!
It seems like yesterday, we took our little husky to his first day of kindergarten. And today, he took himself, on his bike, to his last day of elementary school.
This mom literally hated kindergarten the entire year…yep, I was mad at kindergarten for splitting up my cozy little at home family. And now, my eyes “watered” when the first piece of mail came addressed to Caleb Yokom from Ben Franklin Junior High.
Oh how I would like to slow down time because when Caleb hits milestones the others follow at warp speed…yet, Oh how much fun we have had watching you (and the other kiddos) get big!
Go get ‘em Ben Franklin Wildcat! So proud of who you are, and who you are becoming!
Last day of school tomorrow, last day of elementary school ever for Caleb tomorrow, and yet a five kid water balloon fight tonight.
Times are changing. Caleb will head to junior high and is certain to become “cool”, so this Dad and Mom sat on the deck tonight and soaked up the five kid innocent fun…
Mark was sold on a Lego City theme for his #8 swimming birthday party. Unfortunately, we struck out at eight stores!
By nothing less than a miracle, Mom was able to convince Mark to change his theme to a swimming theme at the last store!
The swimming theme was even more amazing in Mark’s eyes when Dad suggested that we all bike and deliver his invites WEARING OUR SWIMSUITS.
This kind of fun should be illegal!
A milestone day…last day of preschool EVER for the Yokom crew!
A bitter sweet day…
Why do these kids keep getting bigger faster and faster (bitter, would LOVE for time to slow down so we could enjoy the journey more)!
Brynn has begged to be a kindergartner for about 9 months, she is ready (sweet)!
The best teachers prepped Brynn for kindergarten…Miss Shanara and Gramma.
Pretty sure the photo bomb classmate should prep another year :) too silly for kindergarten?!*
Look Out Kindergarten…”Here I come!”
Walking, Running…and a little resting
for a GREAT cause, a GREAT team and with GREAT friends!
Next year our “friend with white hair” will be keeping up with the “big” kids too!
Keep fighting Josh…we’ve got your back, and we ain’t Joshin’ about that!
What is the goal of spring soccer?
Stay warm?
Do not blow away?
Stay Dry?
NO…the goal is to hustle, be aggressive and SCORE Goals!
Go Luke’s Team Crew!
Go Jayne’s Team Hawks! Go Jayne’s Coach Mom! Go Mark’s Team Magic!
The cold never bothered me anyway.
