Brave Boy

Mark had oral surgery today to remove an extra permanent tooth.  He was excited to go see Dr. Crago because he has the best treat drawer.  Mark was super brave, and all went well.

After the procedure, he needed some R & R, played with a whole bag of treats (the nurse sent home enough treasures for the patient and his sisters), and he requested 19 quarters from the tooth fairy.

A Fun Fundraiser

Caleb came home late last week completely pumped up (he gets this from his dad) over the idea Grant and him came up with…

a lemonade stand with all proceeds going to the Carson Glore Foundation.  This foundation builds schools in Africa.

Let the fun, the lemonade, the sno cones, the brownies, the Cheez Its (Grant’s idea…surprisingly no takers) and the Cha Ching begin!

The boys are going to surprise their teacher, who knew Carson Glore, with 100$ on Monday!

Great idea boys, Great fun, Great weather, Great cause and Great generosity!

“I am a China Girl”

Brynn loved her Gotcha day this year!

She announced all day to all of north Fargo, “I am a China girl.”

Brynn loved her Gotcha day because she got to wear a fancy outfit, she selected a breakfast of chocolate donuts with sprinkles, she ate from the “I am special” plate all day, she selected noodles for supper, she screamed with joy over the streamers dangling from the bedroom doorways…basically Brynn loved being treated a step above her normal princess status today.

Does Brynn understand what “I am a China girl” means?

Well, last night we were talking about her gotcha day…she pointed to a picture of our wedding day and she said, “And on that day, me and Caleb and Lukie and Jayne and Markie were waiting for you in China.”

Oh Brynn, you are adorably oblivious at so many levels, and this whole house loves you to absolute pieces!!

Three years ago today was one of my five most favorite days EVER because three years ago today we held the baby who we fell in love with because of some pictures and a promise!

The girls final dance recital was today!

Brynn and her friend Abby were in the first show of the day!

They were both pretty in pink with matching flowers in their hair, plus they danced a little too!

Jayne and several of her friends were in the third show of the day!

Dance like nobody’s watching OR wave your arm off at everybody watching more than you dance.

Jayne chose the latter today!

“Hello sweet Jayne”

Smile Birthday Boy!!

(last sleepover ever…wink)

With how wild the party started, Dad and I were frightened to bring out the party activity…Tie dying shirts!

Not sure how, but it was the only time we didn’t have to double as referees!

Tie dying shirts was a splashing good time!

Step One: Choose your pattern (spiral, marble or tiger)

IMG_6147

Step Two: Dye with care

Step Three: “Bake” overnight

Step Four: Marvel at the results!

Happy 9th Birthday Luke!

You are a SPLASH…

Yes, most often a splash of grump, but you are still our splash, and we love every stubborn ounce of you!!

Every once in a while, we get a glimmer of hope that the grump will become less…

School conferences this spring:

Mom asks, “Any problems with Luke being difficult?”

Luke’s teacher looks at Mom like she is a fruitcake…turns to the student teacher and says, “Can you even imagine Luke being difficult?”

SPLASH…why do I even ask?!*

And so the story of Luke continues into the 9th year!
