Jayne turned SIX today!!!

 

 

 

 

 

From the moment she woke up…

 

 

 

 

 

      Til the last good bye was said…

Jayne LOVED every minute of her BIG day!!

As luck would have it, all the guests were able to make it to the party!

 

The dog treats were prepared, and then the guests started to arrive!

And since we were having so much dog gone fun, we were HOPPY to…

dye our Easter eggs!

  

The results were EGG-cellent!

And for the first time since forever, Luke was not the last one decorating…Mark was?!*  What?!* This from the boy who got physically tired learning to tie his shoes earlier in the week (yep, while learning to tie his shoes he asked Dad if he could take a little break and rest on the couch)…shocking effort…shockingly beautiful results from all!

 

Happy, Happy Birthday to our sweet 6 going on 13 Jayne!

You loved your birthday SO MUCH that we are worried that you won’t want to wait 365 days for everyone and their dog to fuss over you for the entire day again!

We love you to pieces sweet six year old pea!

Mom HAD to get some great pictures of Jayne for her wall of kid pictures…and Mom feels we did just that.

The sister pictures were just for fun.  Brynn was super pumped about being in the photo shoot, and she really wanted to be in ALL of the photo shoot.  I am not sure her excitement for the photo shoot was truly captured…

The story of how Jayne got her SPARKLE

1st step: Take your whole family to Claires

(how the store ever recovers from a Yokom visit is beyond me cuz we touch EVERYTHING)

2nd step: Rally your support system around you and NEVER notice how pale (AKA nervous) your oldest brother is!

 

3rd step: This is no sweat…

Well, maybe a little sweat…

 

Well, nobody said beauty was pain free…

4th step: Treat yourself for a job well done

5th step: SPARKLE

Now that wasn’t so bad…

7 capped teeth, 1 filling, 2 teeth extractions and ear tubes!

~Uff duh~

5 kids and this is the first time this dad and mom have had to do the OR scene, and, unfortunately, it won’t be the last time :(  Not a surprise, but definitely confirmed by an upper palate and teeth Xray today :(

Jayne did wonderful (she wanted to go to school at noon and was playing outside by 2 pm)! 

When we walked into recovery, an OR nurse was holding Jayne’s hand and speaking Chinese to her (and Sanford told us they couldn’t get an interpreter!),

and tonight the Hallquist Honeys came with a balloon, sherbet and Scooby snack crackers.

And with our tummies full of sherbet, and Jayne’s TEETH tucked under her pillow waiting for the tooth fairy…we say, “Now that wasn’t so bad!”

63 + 35 + 33 = PARTY!!

Not all too surprisingly, the kids were NOT speechless about the naughty leprechaun.  In fact, it jazzed them right up!!  They could not believe the mess that had been made!!

Luckily, our day was PACKED with things to keep our jazzed up intensity going!!

Basketball tourney for Caleb…GOOOO Spartans!!!  We won 2 out of 3 games, and although not formally announced, ROWDY section was awarded to the Lehr Cousins and the Yokom Kids!  Rowdy Brody, Rowdy Jayne and Rowdy Brynn tried to join the team ON THE COURT several times during the last game…no injuries, but the eyes staring in our direction seemed to say, “Who let the dogs out?!*”

Basketball to the park to the St. Patrick’s Day parade (1000s upon 1000s of people courtesy of 70+ degree temps!  We were right at the end and only retrieved candy crumbs.  No worries, Brody stated on the way to the car with pride and amazement, “I got LOTS of candy.”). Parade to the Yokom house for…
