Happy Halloween!!
Love: Star Wars Mark, Butterfly Princess Jayne, Morph Luke, Ladybug Brynn and Morph Caleb
Jayne has pointed out several times in the last month that this is her “First Halloween.”
“My First Halloween” started at the Great Yokoms…
And “My First Halloween” ended with trick or treating in our neighborhood.
After ringing her first doorbell (above), Jayne sprinted (literally) to her teacher’s house about five blocks away. Jayne was very happy as we went and she hoped that each house along the way was Mrs. Wiisanen’s house. When we finally got to Mrs. Wiisanen’s house, Jayne’s complete high went to a complete low as soon as her teacher’s treat was in her treat bag. Jayne could barely make it home.
Combustion…that has to be the sign of a GREAT “My First Halloween!”
Another fun Halloween Carnival!
Brynn, Jayne and Mark’s fortune…you will be over stimulated and crabby at the carnival and you will have to go home early. And wouldn’t you know it, their fortune came true!
Caleb and Tate ran musical chairs and the potato sack race during the carnival. They had a blast doing so!
Luke won “Funniest Costume”! All of the fourth grade boys and Luke had on morph suits, and yet some how Luke (by applause) won funniest costume!
What a hoot!
The girls got to wear their costumes to Just for Kix today!
Brynn, the ladybug and Abby, the horse…the cutest little animals dancing to “The Wheels on the Bus.”
Luckily, Abby did not get tangled up in her horse’s legs!
Jayne wore her butterfly princess costume for her class too…Mom did not get there in time from work to capture a picture, but rumor has it that her dancing feet kept getting caught in her long princess dress :)
Oh the joys and fun of raising girls!
Every school picture comes with a story!
Caleb picked his school picture shirt in August. He loved it…a Tony Hawk special. The morning of school pictures, he did NOT love the hood on the shirt. Breakdown minutes before he needed to leave for school. At one point, he had the unwanted hood tucked into the back of his shirt. Knowing that he would hate the humpback look even more than the hood, I said, “You really don’t want to tuck that hood in.” And the results…
Super Nice (hood and all)!
Luke had a pants crisis minutes before he needed to leave for school. He attempted to wear jeans…belt no belt…breakdown…jeans off and wind pants on. Luke has kind of puffy hair. It is super thick and he has lots of it. Well, on school picture morning, he was hoping for his hair to be flat. I got the hair glue out and the results…
Super Nice (wind pants and all)!
Jayne had to have the purple background because purple is her favorite color. I was not about to argue with a favorite color. Jayne showered the morning of pictures, we blew dry her hair and she was looking fabulous. We did have to fix her hair minutes before she needed to leave for school because she had decided to be a ghost with a fleece blanket over her head.
Does the school own fleece blankets? Was Jayne a ghost just prior to her pictures because Jayne’s hair did not look like this when she left the house…
Mark’s only pre-departure to school crisis was that he was eating the collar of his shirt. I simply asked him to try to keep his shirt out of his mouth until after pictures. He voiced understanding.
Mark has a GREAT smile…it is contagious. Not sure he has taken a bad picture because his smile is always ear to ear for the camera.
Mark bragged that the photographer, “Only had to take one shot.” to capture his kindergarten year school photo.
Pretty sure the photographer settled.
Another year of school pictures, and another year of the stories that go with them!
